We are delighted to be associated with a leading edge manufacturer and a company that has deep roots in the local community, said Mazzola. This offer comes at an ideal time, as CARVAL driver Carl Picelle recently secured the national points lead in the (NASA GTS-2) Championship with two wins at Virginia International Raceway and a pair of second-place finishes at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. We are entering the final third of the season.
CARVAL and Picelles goal is to capture both the Regional and National Championship of the NASA (National Auto Sport Assoc.) Midwest Road Racing Challenge in class GTS-2. Picelle and Mazzola jointly operate CARVAL Motorsports, which campaigns a Porsche 944 at numerous road course facilities throughout the Midwest. Picelle operates Franklin Square Deli in downtown Kent, the restaurant noted for its motor sport art display.
Allen Aircraft (Allen Racing Products) joins associate sponsors Flynns Tire Group, Action Auto Body of Streetsboro, Steinels Autowerks in Twinsburg, Franklin Square Deli, Advanced Display Systems and Campus Camera and Imaging, all of Kent, in support of the CARVAL effort.
